Windows 11 causes TPM shortage, scalping: can be purchased here

Windows 11 Microsoft’s first operating system that requires a TPM, or Trusted platform moduleLook for hardware modules and send desperate upgrades to online retailers. Demand has exploded overnight, but the market is turbulent as users try to get a TPM as soon as possible to make sure their PC is compatible with the new operating system. In some cases, a TPM sold for $ 15 can cost as much as $ 100 through eBay.

As you can see in the graph below, we took a closer look at the TPM market to see how pricing and availability were affected shortly after the announcement of Windows 11. There is also a guide to the modules you can use on your motherboard.

The TPM market has largely collapsed overnight and almost all modules are completely out of stock. Some TPMs are still available, but only at significantly higher prices. Scalping is already well established, as we now see in many other areas of the PC market. We were able to see the TPM shortage lasting for a long time, caught up in an ongoing chip shortage that could make timely replenishment more dreamy than it really is.
