WhatsApp introduces a new feature that allows users to join an ongoing call directly from a group chat

WhatsApp has integrated a joinable calling feature (allowing users to join an ongoing group video) directly into group chat. With the latest update, users can join an ongoing group call directly from the Group Chat tab. Joinable calls were first introduced on WhatsApp in July this year. The instant messaging app has brought some improvements to its functionality by integrating with the WhatsApp group. Among the changes introduced in the latest update, group call notifications now show the name of the group instead of the name of the participant.

There are some changes introduced in WhatsApp Call function that can be joined. Users can now join an ongoing WhatsApp group call directly from the group chat window. All ongoing group video and voice calls will also appear in the chat, making it easy to find and join as soon as you open the app.

A Facebook-owned company said, “It’s facilitating voluntary connections with the group. At any time, you can easily join an ongoing call with the group directly from chat view with a single click.”

Once the group call is initiated, all members can join immediately or freely. The latter will bring up another tab within the group chat. Join With the click of a button, you can tap to enter the call. According to WhatsApp, call notifications show the name of the group instead of the participant’s name. Please note that only those who are part of each WhatsApp group can join an ongoing group call. According to WhatsApp, calls will also receive lighter ringtones so that they feel “as light as sending and receiving messages”.
