Sharp AQUOS Wish with Snapdragon 4805G chip officially announced

The days when we were able to talk about Japanese smartphone vendors as top manufacturers are over. At this time, Sharp and Sony are designing phones for a small number of customers only. But, interestingly, unlike LG, they are not going to close their business in this area. If Sony is still there for business gain, we don’t know why Sharp will continue to build smartphones. Anyway, today the latter has announced a new series, the Sharp AQUOS Wish. A low-end smartphone series with a list of interesting specs.

The new Sharp AQUOS Wish comes after the much talked about AQUOS R line. The latter was the first to bring the water drop screen design to market. There is also 4GB of LPDDR4X memory and 64GB of UFS 2.1 storage. The 3730mAh battery is powered via a Type-C interface.

A 5.7-inch 720P LCD screen is used on the front. The top and bottom borders are certainly not small. It also uses a centrally located water drop screen design.

In addition, the Sharp AQUOS Wish comes with a 13MP single camera on the back and an 8MP lens on the front. It supports IP67 dust and water resistance, has a side fingerprint scanner, and supports up to two operating system upgrades within two years.

Snapdragon 480

One of the most interesting features is the internal Snapdragon 4805G chip. This chip comes with a lot of low-end smartphones. This means it’s a very popular processor in entry-level Android camps.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 5G has 8 cores in 2 clusters. Two ARM Cortex A76 performance cores operate up to 2GHz and six smaller ARM Cortex A55 efficiency cores operate up to 1.8GHz.

The integrated Qualcomm X51 5G modem can reach up to 2.5 Gbps (5G) / 800 Mbps (LTE) download speeds and 660 Mbps (5G) / 210 Mbps (LTE) upload speeds. The main character also supports WiFi 62×2 and Bluetooth 5.1.

Compared to the old Adreno 610, the new Adreno 619 GPU is over 100% faster. The SD480 is manufactured on the latest 8nm process and should be very energy efficient.

Sharp AQUOS Wish has a simple design and comes in a variety of colors. Among them, “olive green”, “ivory”, “charcoal” and so on. Uses a matte material with a size of 147 mm x 71 mm x 8.9 mm and a weight of 162 g. Manufacturers claim to use 35% recycled plastic for their shells. Phone booths also reduce the amount of paper by 40% compared to other smartphone brands.

The Sharp AQUOS Wish will be available in mid-January 2022. Sharp AQUOS Wish with Snapdragon 4805G chip officially announced
