you Spot run I saw.. You have seen spot jumps. You have seen the spot do Dance routine with cute little loot.. Now, see Spotfire Deadly Weapons. Sword Defense Systems has announced a precision rifle for robot dogs that can nail targets 1.2 km (0.75 miles) away.
The special purpose unmanned rifle (SPUR) fits the back of the robot dog of your choice. In this case, Ghost Robotics has four Vision-60s. Weighing 17 pounds (7.7 kg), the Teledyne FLIR Boson thermal camera features a 30x optical zoom that allows you to select targets during the day or at night.
It fires 6.5mm Creedmoor or 7.62 x 51mm NATO ammunition in a 10-round magazine with a pinch. The SPUR assembly has a ceramic coating designed to obscure the night vision system.
The relatively light recoil of the Creedmore round should not cause much balance problems, given that these Robodogs spent their early days being pushed away by brooms and hockey sticks. Personally, I throw away all the brooms and hockey sticks in my house. It wasn’t me, everyone!
There is no sign that the system is autonomous at this point, but the technology does exist and it is natural to see this kind of device enter military service as at least a semi-autonomous murder machine at least at some point. ..
Isaac Asimov’s Three Laws of Robotics At this stage we will stay in the world of fiction. According to the University of Queensland Faculty of Law, Autonomous weapons system distinguishes combatants from civilians, takes all predictable measures to prevent harm to civilians, and precautions to ensure that they are attacking legitimate targets As long as we can take action, minimize collateral damage, and provide advance warning, it is not currently prohibited by international law. To civilians if possible.
Ghost Robotics unveiled SPUR as one of several “partner payloads” for Vision-60 robots at the NDIA Future Force Capabilities conference in Columbus, Georgia. The company tagged the US Special Operations Command in the following Twitter post, but it’s unclear if the system still has buyers or if it’s just presented as a concept.
