Appearance of Internet of Things (IoT) Smartphone brands have paved the way for growth as they have begun to open up new opportunities with a range of connected high-tech products and appliances. In doing so, they are competing with traditional consumer technology brands. To understand the performance of smartphone brands in India’s expanding market, market research institute Cyber Media Research (CMR) conducted the CMR Connected Consumer Survey 2021.
And that Survey reportTargeting 2,010 consumers in India’s top eight cities, has cast some interesting insights.
For connected consumers, the reports report that the biggest expectations from consumer technology products and appliances are, among other things, ease of use (96%), affordability (89%), and innovative design aesthetics (88%). .. Laptops (39%), tablets (31%) and smart bands (29%) are among the top three smart technology products and appliances consumers are currently using.
Realme numbers are impressive
The survey clearly shows that smartphone consumer technology companies have earned the trust, recommendations and preferences of consumers. The high brand affinity and brand trust that some smartphone brands enjoy among consumers has led to an increase in the adoption of new consumer technology products from them.
According to the report, Realme enjoyed the highest brand confidence score of 55%, Samsung was second with 51% and Apple was third with 49%.
The report added that Xiaomi and Samsung lead brand awareness with 96%, followed by Realme (91%). Realme is the most considered (67%) brand, followed by Xiaomi (62%) and Samsung (50%).
When it comes to user satisfaction, of course, Apple is above the chart at 96%, followed by Samsung at 94%.
Realme is the most recommended (52%) brand, followed by Xiaomi (48%) and Samsung (44%).
Realme enjoyed the highest brand affinity of 76% when it comes to the overall affinity score derived from brand awareness, consideration, satisfaction and recommendations. Xiaomi was second with 74% and Samsung was third with 71%.
In the smartphone space, Realme again outperformed overall satisfaction (96%), followed by Samsung (95%).
In the laptop segment, three in four smartphone users explored Lenovo before making the final purchase, the report said.
In the tablet market, Samsung (94%) and Apple (87%) had the highest brand awareness in that order. Processor (94%) and battery (86%) are the biggest factors users should consider when choosing a tablet.
LG outperforms smart TV segment in awareness score
Realme (78%) is once again top in brand awareness in the smartwatch category. This was followed by Xiaomi (76%). Realme is the most recommended by consumers (25%). Tracking physical activity (83%) and monitoring blood pressure (82%) are important to consumers.
Among the wireless earphone brands, Boat (32%) is the most recommended brand, followed by Samsung (26%). Realme leads in awareness (74%) and satisfaction (98%). Battery life (94%) is the most important consideration for consumers.
In the Bluetooth speaker segment, Boat (98%) led the satisfaction, followed by Philips (96%). Portability (90%) and excellent audio quality (90%) are the largest buying drivers in this segment.
In the most important smart TV segment, LG (92%) and Samsung (86%) showed the highest recognition in the smart TV category. High-speed user interface (86%) and voice control (86%) are important considerations for consumers.
Dyson (96%) and Philips (88%) follow, leading the brand satisfaction of hair dryers. Philips also enjoyed the highest brand recommendations (43%) in the electric toothbrush category. It seems that 2 out of 5 users of electric toothbrushes are promoting it to their peers. Philips leads in awareness (73%) and consideration (36%), while Samsung (96%) tops the list of air purifier brand satisfaction.
The survey covers more than 25 consumer technology products and appliances from approximately 16 consumer technology brands. It was held from late October to mid-November 2021.
