Prichard Water Board Members Unanimously Suspend Manager Without Pay

Mobile County, Alabama (WKRGMore) — The Pritchard Water Authority manager has been suspended without pay.

This development was revealed at a special meeting and Pritchard Water’s Board members unanimously decided to suspend Board Manager Teresa Lewis without pay.

This all came after Lewis was arrested last Thursday on aggravated charges of property theft and theft.

Pritchard Water Commission attorney Jay Roth said Lewis will be suspended indefinitely or until the criminal case is closed.

WKRG News 5 caught up with a resident at the end of the meeting who said he was disgusted with the corruption going on within the Pritchard Water Authority.

“We are tired,” said Pastor Archie Rankin of Sure Ward Outreach Ministry. “We need answers. I hope that when all is settled, all those responsible for this corruption will be arrested.”

So far, four people have been arrested on suspicion of misusing public funds, including former public service supervisor Randy Burden, former operations manager Nia Bradley, and her husband Anthony Bradley. , Lewis is the only one still employed by Pritchard Water.

The Water Authority faces fines of more than $250,000 from the Alabama Department of Environmental Management.
