MOBILE, Alabama (WKRG) — A Mobile teenager faces multiple charges after police said he crashed his vehicle into a building early Saturday morning following a police chase. Mobile police say it happened around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday. Police said they tried to stop the car on Racine’s Avenue and Overlook Road, but the driver continued driving.
After about two miles of chasing, the driver collided with a building near the intersection of Overlook and Howells Ferry Roads. On Saturday morning, the scars from the crash were still visible. The vehicle crashed through a fence, destroyed an air conditioning unit, and cracked the wall behind the store. No one was injured.
Mobile police say they have arrested 18-year-old Leshaun Jones. He is charged with possession of marijuana, attempted escape, and illegally carrying a firearm.
