OppoPad Passes Geekbench with Snapdragon 870

The Android tablet market is trending again and many companies are entering this segment. Last year, Realme made its debut in the RealmePad segment. Motorola has also decided to return to the market, and even Nokia has launched a cost-effective tablet. Currently, more brands are set to join this category, and as amazing as it might be one of them is Oppo. The former Realme parent company is trying to join the segment with an originally unnamed Oppo Pad … Yes, Realme has a Realme Pad and Oppo has an Oppo Pad. Despite the lack of originality, Oppo is targeting the flagship market with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC, so there is no comparison between the two tablets. This certainly sounds good news. There is no “flagship appeal” in the Android tablet segment, only Samsung is actively launching the flagship.

Today, the alleged Oppo Pad passed the Geekbench 4 database with model number OPD2021. The alleged tablet scored 4,582 points in the single core and 12,259 points in the multi-core category. These scores may be impressive, but it’s worth remembering that you’re using the Geekbench 4 standard. When the device goes through a Geekbench v5 session, the number will be lower and will be comparable to other Snapdragon 870-equipped devices.

The Geekbench list confirms the existence of this chipset with frequencies up to 3.19GHz and Kona codenamed. For those who don’t know, the SD870 has a powerful Adreno 650 GPU that can handle everything in the Google Play store effortlessly. The chipset uses a 7nm manufacturing process and is also inside the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro. Interestingly, Vivo – Oppo’s sister company is also preparing a flagship tablet with exactly the same SoC. Apparently, the locks are open and there will be many tablets with the Snapdragon 870 in the coming months.

Future Oppo Pads will run with 6GB of RAM, but you can expect other variations as well. You probably have 128GB of internal storage. Unfortunately, given the availability of Android 12, it’s worth noting that it’s running Android 11. However, this could be a test model with no finished software. Anyway, you can expect ColorOS 12 to run on it.

Oppo pad alleged specifications

According to previous rumors, the Oppo Pad has some corners cut and has an LCD panel. Despite the lack of OLED, it provides a refresh rate of 120Hz. In addition, it comes with an 8MP shooter for selfies and video calls. Go back and you’ll find a 13MP shooter. The tablet will be available in the first half of 2022.
