One injured after plane crash in Crestview: Okaloosa Co. Sheriff

Crestview, Florida (WKRGMore) — a pilot was injured after he crashed a small plane in Crestview on Friday afternoon, according to . Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

In a release, the OCSO said a Cessna Cardinal 177 single-engine plane with only a pilot on board departed Destin Executive Airport (DTS) en route to Bob Sykes Airport (CEW).

The plane crashed into a field just north of Possum Ridge Road in Crestview due to engine failure.

The OCSO said the pilot was alert and conscious when law enforcement arrived. He was taken to North Okaloosa Hospital with minor injuries for further evaluation.

The FAA and NTSB are investigating engine failures and crashes.
