Mozilla Firefox 94 update brings new home screen and tab management features on Android and iOS

Mozilla Firefox on iOS and Android is getting a new home screen and tab management features. An updated version of the mobile web browser, Firefox 94, allows users to access the last active tab that opens and search the topic-organized history from the home screen. With the latest update, users can also see recently saved bookmarks on the Firefox home page. Firefox 94 reduces the visual confusion of having multiple tabs open by grouping tabs by topic.

The new design is said to have been built on user feedback, turning the home page into a re-entry point and resuming where it left off when the user last came online. Firefox 94 is now available on both Android and iOS.

As mentioned earlier, the new Firefox home page acts as a re-entry point where users can access previously opened tabs that contain articles that haven’t been closed yet. With just a few taps, users can return to the last active tab they opened. Firefox version 94 also shows bookmarked sites. Firefox account users can now view recently saved bookmarks from desktops available on mobile platforms. The new home page also organizes search queries by topic in Firefox for Android. These saved searches are available for 14 days.

To keep your browsing experience clean, Firefox will change a tab to “inactive” if the user hasn’t accessed it within the last 14 days. This feature is currently available on Android and will soon be available on the iOS version.

Android users will be able to choose which story topics to display in their feed. iOS users can access Pocket Stories, but topic customization is currently not available. Topics may include food, entertainment, health, science, technology, and travel.
