Mobile spring fling continues even in the rain

Mobile, Alabama (WKRGMore) — As the rain pours down around the Dodge Community Center on Saturday morning, a line of cars winds through the makeshift Easter drive-thru.

“And I wish I could have taken a picture of the Easter Bunny,” said pre-kindergarten student Birdie Cumby. City of Mobile’s annual Spring Fling has been moved to a drive-thru on Saturday due to weather. They had to ditch their bouncy homes and petting zoos, but left a few key elements behind.

“I think this place is so iconic to so many different communities that everyone can celebrate and you can’t go wrong with the Easter Bunny. I was just grateful.

“Oh yeah. We come to this every year. You can look at the bunnies and get eggs and such,” Harriet Shade said as she waited in the car line.
