Mobile Co. District Attorney’s Office to Hold Wake for Crime Victims on Thursday

Mobile, Alabama (WKRGMore) — The Mobile County District Attorney’s Office hosts a victim memorial service and resource fair to help those affected by crime.
The All Night and Resource Fair will be held at Cooper Riverside Park on Thursday, April 26th at 6pm. The address is 101 S. Water Street.
The purpose of the event is to raise awareness of crime and crime prevention, according to the District Attorney’s Office. Victim service providers attend and offer a variety of resources to those affected.
District Attorney Keith Blackwood said this was to continue to help support the victims’ families.
“We are supporting victims and their families,” Blackwood said. “We have a full-time victim service representative who meets the needs of victims.”
A memorial service is held to remember those who have lost loved ones to crime.
The DA office encourages those who may have lost a loved one to bring their photo to the memorial board and participate in the Butterfly Release.
In case of bad weather, the fair and memorial service will be moved to the atrium of Government Plaza.
