MG Motor India adopts wind solar hybrid energy

MG Motor India has partnered with Clean Max Environment Solutions Pvt Ltd (CleanMax) to supply 4.85 MW of wind and solar hybrid power to MG’s manufacturing facility in Haror. Through this partnership, MG will reduce approximately 20,000 tonnes of CO2 over 15 years. This is equivalent to planting more than 130,000 trees.

CleanMax’s vision is in line with MG’s commitment to a sustainable future. With the launch of India’s first Pure Electric Internet SUV – MG ZS EV, the automaker has been at the forefront of promoting EV adoption in India. Electric SUVs were launched under the initiative to “change what you can do” and encouraged people to adopt zero-emission vehicles.

CleanMax is the first renewable energy company to establish a wind solar hybrid power plant in Gujarat to sell clean energy to individual consumers and businesses. It will be expanded to 150 MW by 2022. MG’s Halol facility will begin drawing power from CleanMax’s hybrid park in Rajkot in February 2022 and will continue for 15 years.

Talking about partnerships, MG Motor India, President and Managing Director, Rajeev Chaba, “We have secured our commitment to a sustainable future and encouraged many to adopt zero-emission vehicles and contribute to environmental protection. Working with CleanMax is a clean manufacturing ecosystem. This is another step towards system development. We hope this move will strengthen our role in building a sustainable environment while reducing energy costs. “

Kuldeep Jain, Founder and MD of CleanMax “We are honored to have selected CleanMax as our sustainability partner. By supplying 50% of our power requirements from our hybrid farm, MG Motor India will realize significant operational cost savings while at the same time CO2. It significantly reduces emissions and also offers cost benefits to provide automakers with a hassle-free solution. Unlike stand-alone solar and wind power generation, wind-solar hybrid power is a 24-hour power source. And enable consumers to meet a larger percentage of their daily electricity demand with renewable energy. “
