May 24th Mi Band 7 launch set, Xiaomi expands display area and teases larger display

Mi Band 7 has been confirmed by Xiaomi. The fitness band will be available in China on May 24th at the same time as the Redmi Note 11 T series. Xiaomi also provides details on the specifications of Mi Band 7, the successor to Mi Band 6. Mi Band 7 has confirmed that it will be equipped with a 1.62 inch AMOLED display with a display area expanded by 25%. A previously leaked specification of the wearable suggested that it had a 192×490 pixel resolution and an always-on (AOD) display.

In a Weibo post, a Chinese company confirmed that the Mi Band 7 will be available on May 24th. Xiaomi has also confirmed that it has a larger display and better display area than its predecessor, the Mi Band 6. It is equipped with a 1.62-inch AMOLED display with a 25% larger display area. Finally, the company said the new product could be launched at the Redmi Note 11 T-series launch event in China.

In a Weibo post, Zeng Xuezhong, senior vice president of Xiaomi and president of the smartphone division, said the next Mi Band 7 will have a larger runway-type display. Xuezhong also said that the Mi Band 7 has NFC capabilities and covers more than 300 bus cards. Xuezhong argued that this would be the strongest Mi Band ever.

According to recent reports, the Mi Band 7 is now offering GPS support, AOD, and a 192×490 pixel display. The model numbers of fitness trackers are said to be M2129B1 and M2130B1. The code name for the fitness tracker is said to be “L66”. It is also rumored that the Mi Band 7 will get a power saving mode that can extend the battery life of the fitness tracker. Power saving mode allegedly records only steps and basic sleep information. The fitness tracker can also get a smart alarm feature that can wake up the user 30 minutes before the scheduled alarm if it detects light sleep.
