Man accidentally shoots brother during argument: Mobile company sheriff

Sems, Alabama (WKRGMore) — Mobile County Sheriff’s Office investigators said a man was killed by his twin brother during an altercation between the three in Sems on Friday night.
Trenton McVeigh, 37, saw his brother Brenton McVeigh during an argument with another man shortly after 8 p.m. Friday on Western Hills Drive in Semmes, according to Mobile County Sheriff’s Inspector Terry Hall. It is said that he was shot dead by mistake. May 12.
Investigators told WKRG the altercation erupted when one of the men started screaming. The McVay brothers then went outside and started arguing with another man. According to Hall, the other man pulled out a knife and stabbed Brenton McVay during the argument. Brenton then pulled out his handgun and began pistol-wishing the other man.
While doing so, Hall said a gun shot hit another man’s hand and hit Trenton, Brenton’s brother, in the chest. to kill him
The MCSO is discussing the investigation with the district attorney’s office. Hall says this could be a case of self-defense. Hall said an investigation is still underway to determine if either will be charged.
Brenton McVeigh and another man were still recovering in hospital as of Monday night. Neither have been detained or arrested.
