LifeSouth Community Blood Partners Partners with WKRG in Donating Blood

Mobile, Alabama (WKRGMore) — Life South Regional Blood Center today partnered with WKRG in a community blood drive.

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., two buses were parked outside the News 5 building and Mobile residents rolled up their sleeves to donate.

Today, 60 people will donate and 180 lives will be saved.

District Community Development Coordinator Angela Williams said, “I often tell people that what you donate to us is actually helping to save the lives of neighbors, friends and colleagues. ‘ said.

As we spend more time outdoors during the summer months, the demand for blood donations increases. Donations made today will go to local hospitals in Mobile and Baldwin counties.

“There is no substitute for human blood, so what a joy it is to give back to another human being,” Williams said.

WKRG has been hosting this blood drive since 2014.

“I love coming here every year,” said donor Daniel Phillips.
