Leaders welcome dedication of new Alabama Holocaust Education Center in Birmingham

Birmingham, Alabama (wiatt) — Several local and state leaders attended Emanuel Temple in Birmingham on Monday for the dedication of the Alabama Holocaust Education Center.

The ceremony was attended by Governor Kay Ivey, Senator Katie Britt, Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin and Hoover Mayor Frank Brocato.

The center trains educators about the Holocaust, which killed more than six million Jews across Europe during World War II. Today, more than 1,500 teachers have received this instruction, and 100,000 students have been educated about the Holocaust through the center.
