Jill Biden visits Louisiana Cancer Research Center in New Orleans

New Orleans (WGNO) — First Lady Jill Biden will appear on The Big Easy this week as part of the President’s “Cancer Moonshot” initiative.

On Friday, the First Lady will visit the Louisiana Cancer Research Center in New Orleans with US Senator Bill Cassidy (R-La.) and his wife, Dr. Laura Cassidy. She will land at New Orleans International Airport at 1:30 pm on Friday.

From there, the group will travel to the Louisiana Cancer Research Center for a tour of the facility and an introduction to the director. Research centers are operated by Tulane University, Louisiana State University, Ochsner Health, and Xavier University.

A tour of the center helps highlight cancer moonshots. Reduce national cancer deaths by at least 50% in the next 25 years. The First Lady’s visit also helps kick off National Colon Cancer Awareness Month.
