Jeep Parade Brings Christmas To Daphne’s Kid Recently Diagnosed With Leukemia – WKRG News 5

Daphne, Alabama (WKRG) This season of caring, a little girl received a special gift, Daphne. Her recent diagnosis prevented her from attending the Christmas parade a few weeks ago, so they brought her to the parade.
As far as the eye could see, more than 100 jeeps meandered through the Daphne District, decked out in the lights and sounds of the holiday season.
All for Andy Kate Mason. Just a few weeks ago she was her carefree 3 year old. Now she is a cancer patient who was diagnosed with leukemia earlier this month.
Shannon Richardson, who has known Andy-Kate’s mother since kindergarten, said, “I love them. If I could take this away, I would.” Sitting on Santa’s lap and telling him what you want for Christmas is always a big thing and they just can’t do it,” Richardson says.
Andy Kate couldn’t get to Santa so she and her Jeep brought him. Southland Jeepers Her Club’s Matt Purcell said, “We want to do everything we can to make you feel a little bit of happiness and joy just by driving past.”

This word spread through the Wangan Jeep event, and before I knew it, a parade was born. “We figured this was a way to bring Christmas to them,” says Richardson.
