How to be more productive with the iOS16 email feature

iOS 16 includes a way to send an email at a scheduled time, undo the sent message, and schedule an email follow-up later. Learn how these new features can improve your productivity.

iOS 16Included many new features, including some long-awaited productivity features for communication on iOS, announced at WWDC ’22.

Three of these features are centered around the email app, with many requests for email scheduling, canceling email sending after pressing send, following up emails received later, and more. How to be more productive with the iOS16 email feature

Remind me later

One of the new features of email that many users who receive a lot of email appreciate is the ability to flag messages for later notification. This will display the message when you can actually read it later. This is great for work emails that are often received at different times of the day but need to be processed at specific times.

To use this feature, swipe your inbox email from left to right, then[後で]Select an option to specify the time. By default, 1 hour, tonight, and tomorrow are displayed, but if you want more control over your reminder time,[後で通知する]Select to select a specific date and time to notify about the email.

Send later

Perhaps one of the most promising features of iOS 16 Mail is the ability to schedule emails that will be sent later. This is great if you’re writing an email late at night but don’t want to send it until morning. When composing emails on both iPhone and iPad, emails can now handle this.

To send the message later, press and hold the send button to get the option.

Compose the message as you normally would, but if you want to send the message later, just press and hold the send button and you will be given the option to send it later. You will see several options based on the previous send time. or,[後で送信]You can tap to specify the exact date and time to send the email from your device.

Undo transmission

Cancel Send is a great feature Apple has added to both the Mail and Messages apps in case you want to cancel sending an email after tapping the Send button. Note that you can only cancel 10 seconds before the message is actually sent. This feature does not recall emails that have already been sent.

To use this feature, after sending an email, go to the toolbar at the bottom of the email app[送信を元に戻す]A button is displayed. Tap this button to cancel sending the message and redisplay it in the editor so you can easily adjust the message and try to resend it. however,[送信を元に戻す]The option is only available for 10 seconds before the message is sent.
