Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut is a historic giant upgrade for PS4 and PS5

Ghost of Tsushima and The Last of Us 2 were probably the last classics of the PS4 era and are now PS5 With a brand new director’s cut scheduled for next month.

The· Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut will be available on both PS4 and PS5 when it goes on sale on August 20th. However, due to the scale of the new release, owners of the original Sucker Punch PS4 game will not be able to take advantage of the free upgrade on either system.

In the post PlayStation blog, The developer explained that in addition to the original game and all the DLC content released so far, the main character of the game, “Jin’s New Adventure” will take place in Iki Island.

“If you’re a history lover, you may know that in addition to Tsushima, the neighboring Iki Island was also invaded during this period,” wrote Sucker Punch Andrew Goldfarb. “Today, we are excited to reveal that a whole new chapter of Jin’s Journey is coming and will take place in Iki. In this new story, Jin travels to the island to investigate rumors of the existence of Mongolia. But soon he finds himself involved in an event with a deep personal interest that will force him to relive some traumatic moments from his past. Notice.

Sony says there will be more to share about this new story in the coming weeks, but gamers on both platforms will also benefit from the new trophy for Iki Island content. On the other hand, Director’s Cut also offers some PS5-specific features.

This includes Japanese lip sync, which is missing from the original version. This is possible thanks to the ability to render PS5 cinematics in real time. Sucker punches say this applies to the original game and Ikijima’s extended cutscenes.

PS5’s Director’s Cut utilizes tactile feedback to adapt triggers activated by the PS5 DualSense controller. PS5 will also offer enhanced 3D audio, improved load times, more 4K resolution options, and frame rates up to 60 FPS.

Given that these are more than average platform-to-platform upgrades and involve a whole new story, Sucker Punch is within the right to claim that privilege.
