Former Florida preacher sentenced to 60 years in prison for child sex crimes in Fiji

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) – A former preacher was sentenced to 60 years in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of unlawful sexual conduct in a foreign country, the Department of Justice announced.

Jason R. Moore, 43, reportedly engaged in child sex crimes in the Republic of Fiji from March 2013 to February 2016. He was arrested in Santa Rosa County in 2022 by special agents from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Department of Homeland Security.

“As a former preacher, Moore was able to work with children in a position of trust with parents and the community. It is our mission to remove this dangerous predator from our streets. was a priority for our agents. We would like to thank not only our partners but also their hard work on this case. We are happy to know that Moore will be in prison for many years to come.

If Moore completes his sentence, he will be on supervised release for the rest of his life. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.
