DC Metro Police Say No Senate Shooter Found – WKRG News 5

Washington, D.C. Metro Police said there were no shooters at the Senate building and no one was injured.

“Called for an active shooter. Appears to be malicious. No injuries, no shooter found. MPD is supporting the US Capitol Police Department,” said a DC Metro Police spokesperson. a representative said in an email.

Capitol Police said early Wednesday that officers were searching the Senate building and surrounding areas after receiving a call “about a 911 call.”

Senate officials were instructed to evacuate to designated locations, carry emergency equipment and visitors, and to close and lock exterior doors and windows.

A Washington, D.C. emergency vehicle was seen leaving the area around the Senate on Wednesday afternoon.

Capitol Police said they were continuing to investigate.
