Bay Minnette man dies hydroplaning, hits tree on I-65: ALEA

Bay Minnette, Alabama (WKRGMoreA Bay Minette man died early Tuesday morning after his vehicle on Interstate 65 left the roadway and struck a tree, according to a statement from Alabama law enforcement.

Robert A. Mons IV, 57, was taken to University Hospital, where he died. Officials said he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

ALEA said it occurred around 6:59 am on Tuesday, March 28, about 12 miles north of Minette Bay.

No further information is available at this time as ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division troopers continue to investigate.
