Bay Minette man dies after collision with trailer

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) – A local man has died after a crash eight miles south of Bay Minette, according to a release from the Alabama Department of Law Enforcement.
Chase Sharp, 34, of Bay Minette, was killed when the Ford Explorer he was driving collided with the rear of a Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by a Frisco man.
The crash occurred just after 6 a.m. Monday near the 49 mile marker on Interstate 65, leaving the tractor-trailer disabled and partially in the roadway.
According to the statement, Sharp was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are investigating the accident.
