Escambia County, Florida (WKRGMore) — Wanted Man Attempted murder after stabbing girlfriend and her son in the chest 15 times He was arrested, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office told WKRG News 5 that 48-year-old Tamond Delerle Ruben was found and arrested around 8 a.m. Thursday morning at an ECAT bus stop after being tipped off.

Reuben was wanted on two counts of attempted murder, robbery and kidnapping.

On Monday, the victim told a representative earlier in the day that he was in a nearby cemetery on Massachusetts Avenue with his 18-year-old son and Reuben. After a while, the victim said it was time to go and all three got into the car.

Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons said Reuben put a knife in the 18-year-old boy’s throat as they got into the car. Simmons said Ruben dragged the victim out of the vehicle and forced him into the back seat. Simmons then climbed into his driver’s seat and drove around Fairfield until it stopped in a clearing on his drive.

Simmons, who took the chance, said the victim took a bottle of pepper spray from his purse, grabbed Ruben’s head, sprayed it, and told his son to “run for his life.”

Simmons said the 18-year-old escaped, but was chased by Reuben, who caught him and stabbed him about 15 times.

Ruben is not yet in Escambia County Jail, but the ECSO told WKRG News 5 that he will not have bail because he is violating probation.

WKRG News 5 will update this story with more information as it becomes available.
