Appeals Court Suspends Trump’s Special Master Appointment in Mar-a-Lago Case – WKRG News 5

An appeals court on Thursday ruled that the appointment of a special agent after the search of former President Trump’s Florida home was inappropriate, and a lower court ruled that an error in White House records at Mar-a-Lago determined that the Justice Department’s investigation of unfair treatment could not be limited.
“The law is clear: You cannot write a rule that allows the subject of a search warrant to block a government investigation after the warrant has been executed. No,” a three-judge panel wrote to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.
“Both approaches would reshape the case law that limits federal courts’ involvement in criminal investigations.”
The ruling paves the way for Justice Department investigators to see nearly 22,000 pages of government documents stored at President Trump’s home in Florida, potentially accelerating the final prosecution.
It’s also a big loss for Mr. Trump, who tried to challenge the approval of the search warrant.
