Agile Project Management APM Framework | Agile Certification Training

The Agile Project Management Framework is the latest agile framework that covers the entire project life cycle. The APM framework was introduced by him. Jim Highsmith in the book,

Agile Project Management-Creating Innovative Products..

The APM framework is defined as a series of steps to carry out a project from the initial vision of the product to the final delivery of the product. The agile project management framework that occurs within project development has five different phases.

1. Concept phase:

The concept phase is the initial phase of project management within the APM framework. Generally, after business case approval, agile key members are involved in the conceptual phase of working together to create a compelling vision for the project. The concept phase identifies the customer’s vision for the project, determines the key features required for the project, sets business goals for the project, identifies quality goals for the project, and the appropriate participants and stakeholders for the project. Identify and plan how your team will behave. Offer the project.

2. Speculation phase:

The guessing phase translates the product’s vision into a requirements backlog, provides an overall approach to meeting the requirements, and presents a high-level release plan for the product. There are two important activities in the speculative phase.

1. The team must first understand at least the requirements of the project. Each feature is further subdivided into one or more “user stories” for the team to discuss and estimate. You also need to prioritize your requirements so that you know the order in which your team begins to work on them.

2. The second aspect is to determine a high-level milestone-based plan that estimates the time it will take to create these features. This planning takes place at multiple levels, including release level, wave level, and iteration level.

3. Search phase:

As the name implies, during this phase, members of the agile team consider various alternatives to implement and meet the requirements of the project. During this phase, the work is delivered and tested. Now you need to convert the product vision to a release plan and then to each iterative plan. The team works iteratively during the exploration phase. That is, you get a subset of the product’s features or stories and embrace it in your iterative planning. Then proceed to story development. This is closely related to the adaptation phase that the team learns from development experience and customer feedback.

4. Adaptation phase:

During the adaptation phase, the agile team reviews the results of the execution, the current situation, the team’s performance against the plan, and adapts according to the requirements. Adaptation includes changing the approach to the project, changing the process, changing the environment, changing the purpose of the project, etc., depending on the customer’s requirements. Receiving and recognizing feedback and adapting to the situation based on the feedback is the main task of this phase.

5. Close phase:

This is the final phase within the Agile Project Management Framework. Capture the main lessons of the project and finish the project in an ordered manner.
